The Roofing Association of New Zealand is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 RANZ Awards, recognising outstanding achievement, leadership, and craftsmanship across the roofing industry.
Held at the Annual RANZ Conference in Rotorua on Wednesday 18 June, the awards evening was hosted by MC Paul Ego and brought together roofing professionals from across the motu to celebrate the best of the best. From complex heritage restorations to flawless residential work and future-focused leadership, this year’s winners reflect the talent, dedication and pride that define our industry.
Residential Roof of the Year Winner: Metalhartt Roofing for Oliver Street
Metalhartt Roofing delivered a standout residential project, combining both roofing and cladding with exceptional attention to detail. The design featured a rooftop terrace, seamless integration of roof, barge and soffits with no visible fixings, and beautifully executed bay window junctions. Judges described the project as “a real artform” and an outstanding example of how precision workmanship can bring an architectural vision to life.

This challenging project involved the restoration of a Category 1 heritage building, including fabrication and installation of approximately 900 bespoke, tapered copper panels to restore the main dome and apse. Judges praised the team’s technical expertise, calling it “next-level skill and master-craftsmanship.” The result is a beautiful, historically sensitive restoration that honours the building’s legacy.
