RANZ and I Am Hope Partnership

Engaging our young people and ensuring a bright future for the roofing trade are key topics of relevance for the roofing sector.

The majority of our RANZ members are either employers and/or parents of youth who are at risk. As has been well-documented in recent years, mental health is particularly pertinent in New Zealand’s construction sector. The tragically high suicide rates of our youth in Aotearoa, New Zealand, compared with other developed countries (second highest) is shocking and has far-reaching, devastating impacts. The work of I Am Hope helps to destigmatise mental distress (a leading obstacle to suicide prevention) while resourcing young people with professional support when it counts.

RANZ includes fundraising initiatives with our annual RANZ Member conference and also encourages members to get involved with their roofing teams to support their local communities too. To get started email Michaiah Simmons at michaiah@iamhope.org.nz
