A proud history of industry leadership.
The Roofing Association of New Zealand (RANZ) was established as an Incorporated Society in 1994 to provide a national voice for the roofing industry.
Since its formation, RANZ has worked to support a more professional, skilled, and safety-focused roofing sector. The Association has represented the industry in discussions with government, regulators, and local authorities, contributing to legislation, compliance frameworks, and industry guidance that directly affect roofing businesses and building outcomes across New Zealand.
A significant milestone in RANZ’s history has been its role in the development of formal roofing training and certification. RANZ has played an instrumental part in establishing recognised apprenticeship pathways and qualifications, helping to build a more capable, qualified workforce and a stronger industry overall.
Over more than three decades, RANZ has been shaped by the commitment of its members, volunteers, and industry leaders. Their collective contribution has helped position the roofing industry in good stead to meet future challenges and opportunities.
